Got money? Photoshop is very good. No money? Gimp is very good.

thanks the problem with gimp on my mac is that is using this weird thing called X11.
so is there a another free bit of software???

Here is a list of free mac programs, and yes, Gimp works too.

This page explains that there is a separate place to get the X11 support, midway down the page.
