Which's better Xbox or PS2?

Look at the topic… “Which’s better Xbox or PS2?”

What do YOU think?

I’m looking for more graphic, etc. You know what i mean.

P.S. My computer’s still down. :stuck_out_tongue:

You should make a poll available.

There are pros and cons to each system.

Xbox - can handle more graphics than the ps2 and has more memory, but you’re currently limited to Microsoft-approved software and games

PS2 - Has a linux version shipping so you can put any linux software on your PS2.

So it really depends on what you’re wanting to do with it. If you want to have a render farm for blender made with consoles RIGHT NOW, you’d want to go with the PS2, however, some hackers are circumventing the protection on the Xbox so that linux will be able to run on it. Their website is here:

Personally I think the Xbox is a greater value, and when the hackers succeed it will be able to support linux software (Like Blender!) just like the PS2.

As for the gaming side, it depends on what types of games you like to play. I think Halo is a great game for the Xbox. People are always fighting on which console has the greater of the games, but that’s a personal oppinion that you can only make for yourself.

if you are choosing between those two and are interested in it because of the graphics then definately Xbox

PS2 - Has a linux version shipping so you can put any linux software on your PS2.

Actually, the PS2 developers’ box is a linux platform.

Well. I prefer Xbox to Ps2.

First, cause it have the letter [b]X[/] in it

Second, better graphic!

Third, more memory

Fourht, well…it don’t have more game than ps2 but it have game like Halo and Halo2 will come out in the next year or maybe in 2 year…but Halo is awesome!

but it depend on if you are more interested in game made for the ps2…or if you like more the game made for XBox

Oh I see. That’s what I thought.

No I’m not saying that I’m going to get Xbox for Christmas. I was just curious.

Thanks!

well i was going to say Xbox because it is better. but because everyone else wrote xbox then i will change my mind and go with,

GAME CUBEbut only because its not one of the options :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Inn my honest & humble opinion:

Nintendo Game Cube!

Or, if you are feeling flush with cash, the Panasonic GameCube Q, a GameCube / DVD hybrid:

ps2… the xbox is… well yeah…
in theory the ps2 should be able to handle graphics just as well as an xbox, but the structure of the program need to be made differently, since the ps2 is designed to stream data through it’s larger cache(or maybe it was something else) instead of having all the data sitting htere in memory.

Not at all true, ps2 is underpowered when compared to xbox, in perticular the texture ram of ps2 is a real bottleneck.

xbox is dead… game cube has been dead since it came out, its buried now… xbox will be buried shortly…

ps2 reigns as king with okama gamepshere as its queen… long live the royalty…

did i mention xbox is dead? :stuck_out_tongue:
i have to admit though, mario sunshine for gamcube looks SO SWEET!.. oh, xbox is dead…

Normally I would agree with you, but since the XBox is owned by Microsoft they probably won’t pull out of the Console industry until they control it, like the computer industry. Soon the XBox will rule all.

and I own a XBox, OH YEA!!!

The GameCube isn’t dead!. So it doesn’t have as many games out as the PS2? It’s all about quality of games, not quantity!

That V-Ball game sounds like “Dead Or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.” It’s basically a volleyball game with scantily clad girls. Yay, more near-porn-that-only-the-loneliest-people-will-use-and-smut-that-I-will-get-flamed-over!

Anyway, I have no clue of which to get. I’d go with PS2 because it seems that PlayStation games work on it. Let’s see the XBOX do that!

I would go with PS2, it has the best games. Like FFX!! Love that game!

.XBox only has 1 good game, Halo.
.Gamecube has…hmmm…Zelda…no, it’s not out yet… :stuck_out_tongue:

Perhaps graphics-wise, XBox may be better. I hear they support HDTV, and have some titles which use the HDTV format, but I don’t have an HDTV, so that wasn’t a big factor for me, yet.

I looked more at game choice. Before I made my final decision, I looked at the racks. The PS2 section was more than twice the size of the XBox section, and there’s still the ability to play original PSX games.

So, when I decided to buy a game box a few weeks ago, I went with PS2, but if I buy a second, It’ll be an XBox. Of course, I’ve got to get a new job first, hehe. I haven’t been dissapointed though. I bought GTA3, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, a second controller, and a DVD remote with the PS2. Since then I’ve rented Tony Hawk 4, Tekken 4, and Spiderman. When Blockbuster starts selling all the rental THPS4’s they’ve got, I want to buy it, I’d also like to get GTA Vice City and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter soon.

you mean Mech Assault, Unreal Championship, Splinter Cell, Crazy Taxi 3, Whacked (my personal Favorite  ), Crimson Skies, Dead to Rights, Dragons Lair 3d (Just had to add that one), Morrowind, Hitman 2, Max Payne, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Project Gotham Racing, Serious Sam, Spider-Man, Star Wars Knights of the old Republic, Steel Battalion, The Thing, and Toe Jam and Earl 3 all suck?

Not to mention that doom 3 and American McGees OZ are both coming to XBOX and NOT PS2. More developers are going to xbox because its Easier to make games for and its a heck of a lot better preformance wise.

The only advantage to a PS2 is if you previously had a PS1. That way you can still play your old games along with the large amount of new ones.

Actually the game was “outlaw volleyball.” All in all, somewhat similar to DOA V-ball.
