Simple Bedroom scene with a Scandinavian feel.
Rendered at around 2000 samples in Cycles.
A bit of post processing in Photoshop.
Most if not all items I modeled myself except the bed model which is from MZiemys on blendswap.
The sweater on the right was created via cloth simulation in Blender.
Please let me know what think - all feedback is appreciated.
Looks pretty good, but I found my eyes going all over the place to find a focal point. maybe some more contrast and some depth of field would make this come to life, Remember you’re trying to replicate a photo and a good photographer would include a focal point. also if you can try to render at a higher resolution. maybe 4k since that is the new standard.
Thanks so much for the tips. I see exactly what you mean.
About rendering in 4k - ya I get lazy sometimes and just want the rendering to be over!
Very nice and the room could very well look like that. However, I’m with Blood on a little more contrast. Don’t clamp Direct at 2000 samples if in fact it is clamped. Right above the books could be a saturated figurine are even more book with colorful jackets. And, my machine is sometime struggling with 720 so I won’t be visiting 4k land anytime soon. IMHO really a nice piece of work.
Thanks - I actually set Clamp Direct to 0 but Indirect to 0.5. Too high maybe. I also brightened the whole image in PS which might have blown it out a bit.
No man never set Indirect that low. Matter of fact start at five 5.0 and then maybe move it up if anything. You seem to be going in the wrong direction there. Regardless, still a fine piece.
Oh ok…I guess I’ll have to read up on clamping in that case.
