Who here plays Half-Life or other mod?

Anyone here play a Half-Life or other mod? I was a die-hard Counter-Strike player for awhile but then my friend showed me The Specialist mod and it’s awsome!

Anyway anyone here play any of those games?

I get half life for free ( neener neener neener! ) because my cousin is a developer/owner at valve. 8) AWEsome game, and the new one has outstanding graphics. They just recently refurbished their game engine, and it is shhhWING! [!]

from what I’ve heard it has been years that they have been working on it, and it is more from-scratch than from a previous version
(a friend informs me it was once based on the engine used in the first deus ex)

I would… but I don’t.

I’m not sure if I would admit that.

I play CS from time to time when I make a little LAN with 3 of my friends, but that’s only every 3 months or so. And that’s usually the only time I play.

Yes, I should have said they built it from the base up, because basically they did. nico, why would you not mention it, is half life evil or something?

I think that just from the trailers that the physics engine of Half-Life 2 is going to be the coolest part of the game. SO Realistic!

I’m just dissapointed that it didnt come out this holiday season…

honestly I think ODE (integrated into the latest blender trees, still not entirely functional though) can do a lot of that, they just have the artists and time and money to devote to presenting it so well

Will Half Life 2 include a world builder of some kind? WorldCraft was a great mapping program, so simple and effective. Second best mapping Editor would be UnrealEd… then DoomEd

I’m checking out Bapsis music…

not bad!

yes, and I hear it is coming out in a few weeks

cool to hear from hl2 again. They seem to keep it in the dark these days…

??? What is ODE? the next game engine… or just a physic engine?

ode is a physics engine (ODE is an acronym for Open Dynamics Engine)

I think it is very comparable to the havok physics engine (similar method, speed, features)

though I have never seen polygon bounds work, in blender (haven’t tried elsewhere)

im another cs player. i play even with some friends in online leagues.

I play:

CS
HL
Deathmatch
AHL
GoldenEye
TheSpecialists

I love the CS and TS the most tho.

If anyone ever wants to play let me know.
