yah i always feel the same way…
hmm, lets start a conversation about something very pointles, that will give us somehting to do, i’ll start… =)
hmm, so how about…lawn bowls.
no
I am not into pointless stuff…I mean CG art, ideas how to improve and such
I dont wanna start a thread about pointless things…
BAH!
hey,
let start a creative forum locked for artist over 27+ or those who can
prove to be mature in their creative process as persons to share ideas
among them…a small forum inside elysiuns LOL
and besides…if there is French forum , why not this one ?
ok, well how about this…
What should the main focus be on in making a short animated movie, in other words, what is most important and what is less important. Animation? modelling? lighing/atmosphere? story?
Personally i think that the Animation (camera and object+chaarcter), story and Atmosphere is what is most important. Modelling is important but iv’e seen many less detailed animations that cna be just as entertaining as those with mind pounding modelling and texturing.
Hmmm, 27 and up 'eh?!?! Well, im going to be 25 this Dec, but in terms of maturity im ancient!!! hehe
I find i go through slumps of not doing anything in Blender, and then it all gets to be too much and the itch returns, and off i go, all smoke headed, and having a ball in Blender.
I think mostly, motivation for working is habit. When im on a “hot streak” i get way to many ideas for “cool stuff” to blend, but if i’m forced to take some time off (like now with starting my business) it dosent take long to get out of the swing of things.
So, just do it!!! Open up Blender and just start adding primitives and playing with those verticies until it sorta looks like something and then go from there.
It’s too bad it wouldnt be so easy to make a device that gives you a nasty electric shock if you try to close Blender or go idle for more than 60 seconds or something, then motivation wouldn’t be a problem!!! hehe
Anywayz, late night, too much coke (the pop!!!) and a silly mood, so im babbling, but lucky, all of you, who get to read it hehe
Matt
Blend on, and blend well!!!
hmmm… not much of an interesting Post you have spawned here z… too bad I can only add to the uninterestingness… hmmm something interesting I was thinking of, how about we make some kindda tournament? like an SMC but with rounds, qualifications and a big final! but then again I guess we already have so many contests as is… My two cents.

hmm, so how about…lawn bowls.
You just saw an ad for the movie “Crackerjack” didnt ya
Very shady people, those lawn bowlers, in my opinion. 8)

Oh come on, I promise i’ll be quiet?
Anyways, to a more constructive note:
I’d like to think that Storyline (or otherwise called “plot”) tops the rest. I know you mentioned story already, NEO, just wanted to add to it :). As a quote says i read somewhere, “Graphics maketh not the game”…I guess the same can be said about (short or otherwise) films.

Hmm…that idea aint half bad, but why dont we keep it on subject and do something like “Project Greenlight”?
You know, write concepts/storylines and scripts, then choose three winners out of that part of the contest, then out of the three left, see which one makes their short film faithful to their concept/script.
What do you guys think?
I have had some hopes that this will turn out as mature post…constructive one, without flamming…
about doing arts, animation or games, there is nothing more important than a story, a movie is crap without a story, so is a game too…but a stillimage can be without a story, but it doesnt hurt it to have a story…
Story is important only if you are telling one; saying story is important to film is missing a fundemental: Story is important to narrative film, which is merely a tautology.
Now you can get more consistant, and remove the barrier separating a still image and a sequence of stills scanned 24 (or 25 or 30…) times a second.
I’d say in a narrative story comes second to telling it. Two films can have the same story, but differ vastly in how they tell it. Hollywood tends to forget this and rely on the same (tried and true) way of telling their stories, relying instead on high concept narrative ‘hooks’ to grab their viewer within a minute or less. Thats the concept that they try to push when they stress the word story.

I totally forgot about that…Directing, that is.
I better do not make any suggestions
hehe, well i have to say, that everybody seems to be making the same stuff:
space-ships…
Sry, but im just bored of all these space-ship images… Doesn’t have anybody a little bit more
creativity?
cya henrik
P.S: don’t feel insulted, this is just my opinion
Can YOU make a good space ship? Huh? Huh?
hehehe

yeah, I’ve seen that monkey 8)
Yeah, let’s lock the bastards in! ;oP
