Why are these vertices and edges moving proportionally to the weight paint?


Hello!
Sorry if this isn’t the right way to do this but I am seriously baffled as to what the problem is, im in blender 4.2 and im just trying to change the weights in this model to make a proper walking animation and i keep running into the issue of random vertices and edges completely ignoring the lack of weight applied to them or the movement of a weighted portion moving disproportionally to the rest of the surfaces and edges. what can i do to solve this?

Maybe the rogue vertices just have a tiny tiny bit of weight from the wrong bone so they just appear blue, check them in edit mode, the N panel will show all vert groups they are assigned to

its working a bit better now, im still having the problem of some vertices moving slightly but disproportionally
