Why cant i see a preview of the moviefile

hi,
i have a mp4 movie imported in the sequencer, i got it rendered out as single frames, thats ok, but why cant i see a preview in the middle top window?
if i set it to viewer node i thought i see a preview there

what am i doing wrong?

Try turning on “Use Nodes” in the Compositor Window.
