Why displacement map baked in xNormal changes posistion of LP object in Blender3D?

I used the same algorithm to bake displacement maps for two objects. One object seems fine. But another changes its location when i apply displace modifier. I tried different settings of displace modifier, but they give even worse results - if object is not terribly deformed, it changes position in scene. And if it doesn’t change position, it is terribly deformed. Can someone point out in which direction i shall look for problem?

UPD: I found out that i can get appropriate result if i change modifier strength to 0.01 or smt. like that.

But why? It so not obvious. I mean if i want to apply displacement modifier i choose to apply it by UV map, use RGBtoXYZ and need it to fully influence on my LP mesh. Instead i need to do some strange tweaking.

And, anyway, when i have a closer look, my mesh has some bad edges, and crippled surfaces. They are not so visible just because displacement influence is only 0.01. So, the question is still open.

since it’s only occuring on one object, it must have something to do with the object. did you try applying scale on the one that is having the problem?
