Why do I see edges partially see-through on back face (in viewport)?

Maybe you can help me with a weird viewport issue.

I want to show only visible edges in edit mode. i.e. I don’t want to see those on the back side of the model. For some reason I always see partial edges in Solid Mode.

See the first image. There appears to be an ‘inner cube’ within my model. It occludes backface edges partially.

When I search on this topic people suggest toggling ‘Limit Selection to Visible’ in edit mode, and when I turn it on I can see all backface edges as expected, but the inner cube is still there.

It shows up in other models as well, like these steps:

Any suggestions?

You have changed the default viewport start and end clip distances, don’t unless you really really have a good reason to do son. If your scene doesn’t fit in the range then scale your scene.

The default settings are
stc=1

Thanks for the reply. I can’t see your image.

Yes I can minimize the effects in Perspective view by changing the Clip settings. But in Camera view it remains the same regardless of clip settings.

Your camera view has its own clip settings in the Camera properties. You need to change it there.

While you’re there, enable the “Limits” option for the camera and you’ll be able to see the range of where the camera is able to “see.” No need to run your clip past these points, except to maintain some safety padding.
