Why does Blender do this to my UVmaps ? (large pic).

The picture with the artifacts was produced by Blender. The one w/o artifacts can be produced by any number of apps.

kinda looks like you are still in face mode, but i didn’t think things rendered that way.

Looks like one, or a combination of perhaps several things in the render settings:
‘Edge’ is selected
OSA is not selected
if rendering as JPG ‘Quality’ setting matters, so increase
