Why does screen space reflections remain noisy in EEVEE?

Screen space reflections are very, very noisy for me in EEVEE, even if I don’t move the camera.

Similarly, anti-aliasing could be better.

Now, 3D Studio Max is nowhere near EEVEE, but if I switch to their highest quality viewport and leave it for a little bit, the anti-aliasing and shadows become super-super smooth.

Is there something similar for EEVEE?

Is it related to contact shadows? In that case there is a bias setting somewhere for the contact shadows. Does that help?

Turn up the Viewport samples in render Settings.
