Why does the texture disapear when exported to .3ds file?

I’m doing a paper sculpture project and so the only way to unfold my blender creations is in pepikura (as far as I know im new to all this)… so I export the thing ive made into a 3ds file and open it up in pepikura and all the texture dissapears :frowning: some body help me pleasssssssssssse? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Try a different format such as .obj
Cannot you just manually reload the texture in the external application ?
