Why is Blender not saving my render after I already set the output location?

Hey all

Why is Blender not saving my render after I already set the output location?

Check your directory security settings.

If you’re rendering a still image, it doesn’t do this by default. You still have to save the image manually after the fact (unless I’ve been Blender-ing wrong my whole life). Rendering an animation should save it automatically.

EDIT: Sorry @Hikmet, that wasn’t meant to be a direct reply to you. too late to change it now!

The animation saves fine so i dont think its a security problem

The only reasonI dont use it is because it doesnt render all view layers

With multiply view layers do I literally have to go and save as, and toggle each view layer?

You could configure a File Output node to do this for you in the compositor. It takes a couple minutes to set up but you’d have full control over naming and what goes where.

https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/compositing/types/output/file.html

You could also save as a multi-layer EXR if you’re finishing the image in a program that can read them.

You can also render animation but set the frame range to only one frame.
