I’m copying and pasting an object in the outliner. It’s NOT in a collection. It’s just sitting there. I select it, copy and paste, but Blender doesn’t just put it above the original object, it puts it in a completely different, totally random, collection for no reason! How can I stop this from happening???
Hmm… … for me it get’s inserted in whatever collection is seletced (blue in the standard theme)…
…ohh annd when a object is selected… then in the last selected collection… which seems to be not the collection of the new selected object…
But this makes sence because someone should actively switch to the collection where it should go and an object can be in multiple collections… just selecting an object is mistakable according to collection selection…
→ last selected collection…

Thx for replying. My question is why is the copy put into ANY collection? Why doesn’t it just appear in the outliner above or below the original object?
