Trying to learn how to bake textures in cycles render for exporting and applying as texture maps on models. What is causing this kind of shenanigans, please?
Overlapping UV’s.
I just checked and double checked… I have one single UV map and none of it is overlapping, and that is still the result of hitting bake.
Overlapping UV’s can cause shown artifacts, and that’s one guess that can be made from the provided screenshot alone. Won’t guess again.
