Why jagged edges in render view?

According to this bug report, the issue was fixed a couple of weeks ago, and the fix will be in the 3.1 Release.

Hi.
In the report there is a note:

Note: The problem seems to happen only when the ā€œInterface Resolution Scaleā€ (in User Preferences) is different than 1.0 (e.g., 1.3).

But I can reproduce the problem in Master even using resolution scale=1:
Jagged edges in image editor.blend (102.4 KB)

Iā€™m not sure, but I think other programs and image viewers use filters/methods to smooth the image when the image is scaled down or up.

Another possibility is that this depends on the type of screen of each one of us and the drivers configuration. But for example, scaling the image in GIMP I donā€™t get jagged edges. But the problem does occur in Gwenview (KDE) image viewer. So thatā€™s why I suppose that for this not to happen the program must use some kind of filter.

Like I said before, I donā€™t have resizing. This is a 100% pixel to pixel zoom.
You can see on my video that the problem appears and disappears, although there is no resizing of the picture.

Honestly, I didnā€™t even see your video. Videos are usually useless, they look terrible and the information they show is limited. Next time you try to be more precise in the information you give in the first message/post and always share a .blend file showing the problem as well as possible. You had referred to Render View in the title when you were referring to render result in image editor.
So, What is the resolution of your monitor? Have you modified Interface Resolution Scale from user preferences before? Have you tried Blender 3.1 release candidate or Blender 3.2 alpha to see if the problem persists?

And for the other users. Please, get in the habit of always requesting a .blend file showing the problem as the first step, also Blender version, hardware and OS info, regardless of whether you have any hypotheses about the cause of the problem.

I have been using this program for a week. This glitch with poor image display immediately catches the eye in the standard form of an empty cube scene. Yes, Iā€™ve increased the size of the interface, but Iā€™ve tried undoing that and everything remains just as ugly. My point is that this has nothing to do with the scale of the picture unless itā€™s a glitch.

Its a bug, a relatively new one and has to do with the rewrite of the image engine. It will be resolved in 3.1 as @EAW said. The patch is ready but not yet commited. Test if your render works in blender 2.8 and if Iā€™d suggest to wait for 3.1

Please try the 3.1.0 release candidate and report back here if you still have the problem with 3.1. To see if this is the same issue as the link EAW shared.

I tried it in 3.1.0 rc, I donā€™t see the problem yet.
