Why my shader disappear when re-open my file?


In my file I “append” several shaders, I saw them and use them with no problem, but when I quit my file and open it again all my shader are missing :woozy_face:, I just have the last one used.

Have you not, somehow changed the location of the appended files? That would explain the issue.
Btw, I always pack everything not to have issues like this. Rather just copy the material, delete its object. Click for phantom user, not to delete it during a purge, then that’s it. I may end up with big files, but I won’t lose anything :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

If you have appended them, but NOT marked them as “fake user”, (the shield), Blender assumes you don’t want them so clears them out of the file as “wasted” items, like orphan data. To keep any iamges / shaders etc, always mark them fake user, that way, even if they are not used, they are accessible.

Oh yes, fake user is the right term. I don’t know where phantom came from :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
