Why save button is grayed out in texture paint mode?

Hi all,

Just wondering why the save image button, in image editor, usual is gray while working on the texture paint mode? I mean the alt+s button.

I see there “image path can’t be written to”. I do not know what that means.

I think it is grayed out if the image has not been saved before. If it is a new image created in Blender (not pulled from your hard drive), then you ‘Save as Image’ to save it to your disk, and then the save button is enabled.

Sadly even i save the image in my hard drive it still grayed out. I really don’t if this is bug or not. It seems like texture paint it is some how neglected in blender, it is pity such powerful tool.
