why won't an object reflect in a raymirror object?

I have a large model composed of several meshes and a reflective floor very similar to this…

but the object is not reflecting in the floor at all, the floor is reflecting the rest of the scene but not the main object…anything I’m missing?

Is ‘traceable’ clicked in materials?

a .blend would help me see what’s wrong.


If it’s not in the same layer, it may not be able to detect the rays.
