Why would this parented object drag behind

I have a question about parenting objects


In my pic. The monster is the box with the red ring, and the player is the cube with no rings. The actual Ring object is parented to the cube, it is invisible from the beginning, then is visible when the monster cube is in the ‘selected’ state. As you can see on the left. In the GE when my player nears the cube while its selected it will chase me. The parent cube and child ring follows me as the should. The problem is the cube seems to drag the ring behind it as it follows me (middle pane). Even though they are lined up perfectly when i parent them ( As you can see in the left)

Any reason why this would happen?. I mean other things i have parented move at the exact same time and rotation. Thanks in advance on any fix :smiley:

Here is the blend…Play the middle pane and select the monster. You must click him twice to target him. Walk very close to him then he will chase you. Walk all around him to see what he does. Wierd because they are lined up. The green ring NPC is unrelated. And BTW anything I have there is free to use to anyone

Select the monster, hit Ctrl+A, click “Rotation & Scale” in the menu that pops up.

That should do it.
