Quick quesion on weight painting armatures: How? I haven’t found any tutorials. I need to know because I have carefully modeled a troll but when I add armtures I run into a problem because when I move them a bunch of the mesh doesn’t move! So it creates a nasty effect. Will weight painting my armtures fix this?
Select the mesh, and select “Weight Paint” from the “Mode:” menu.

um…basically you have to use weight painting to get decent results…especially with organic things like creatures, humans, ect …i mean you could use envelopes…but that doesn’t really let you target specific areas.
you select the bone you want to have the stuff around it follow then go into pose mode and weight paint mode. move the bone into a position where the stuff dowsnt follow it and paint it using add or subtract to get the look you want. if this doesnt help email me at [email protected] and i will send you a video tutorial i found.
