Hi, I’m trying to animate the pages of a book flipping as if it were caused by wind. I’m using grids with soft body and cloth modifiers as the pages, with the ends weight painted into the books binding. My initial idea was to try and change the gravity on different keyframes, but that doesn’t seem to work. Is there a way to create a force like wind that will effect the physics of my pages?
-If there is completely alternate way I’d appreciate that too.
I don’t know a good way to animate a book’s pages with wind, but I have been dabbling a bit with a " page flip animation " here and there, and I have a fairly good animation set up, I geuss. It, of course, is not done.
One of the things the animation needs is a curl at the corner towards the end of the animation, but I the curve I am using to create the curl offsets the position of the page mesh and it ruins everything.
Another thing, obviously, is that it has no shading, textures, and the like.
As a matter of fact, the whole animation is a little off.
But still, I suppose it is an ok animation. I will continue to work on it… And after it’s done, I’ll have it critiqued here.
I apologize hippobeings, at first glance I just assumed, for some reason, that you already new about the different forces in Blender, and that you were not asking how to make wind, but how to properly produce a " turning page " animation with a wind force. Which I wouldn’t know how to do that.
You can just go to youtube.com and search for “Blender 3d” + “wind”. That should give some good tutorials. And I suppose tatsuyame's post also answered your question.
