I was just considering buying a proper computer to do all my blender stuff on. I had a pretty good idea what i wanted (ati radeon 8750) until i heard the rumour that only nvidia cards will work with blender in the future?? Is this true? And why can’t ati cards be used??
Both Ati and Nvidia do and will work with blender in the future. In the cycles renderer the only GPU acceleration is with CUDA but CPU rendering can use both. Also some features are only available using the cpu
