Will pay $5 for each model

Hey, I’m making a game with torque game engine and I’d like to have a really good modeler who use Blender.
Really…a real good one. Making models like this…

And many, many more. I have nearly 25 creatures. And have charactors. So it’s atleast 40 models I need. And I’ll pay $5 for each one If you can animate, I’ll pay extra.
Anybody want the job?
Thanks

those are concepts…

5 buks a model… thats just hilarious, u do know that something like this would cost at least like 100+ per creature right?? as this is fairly much free lance

$100? I doubt they’re worth it that much. I can go mch as $10 each. You’d get paid when the game is done which it’ll take 2 years because it’s big.

dude, im sorry, but I don’t think anyone is going to wait 2 years to get paid. Its normal to pay people when they complete their part of the work, not 2 years later. Also, $10 is really low for difficult models like those.

Oh. I meant I can pay when finish.

Ok…what price would you guys do it for?

As the requester you can’t really set the rate of how much a character like that is worth. You can decide whether or not you want to pay whatever amount you are quoted though.

Now, please let me get this straight…

You offer $5 a character (maybe $10, now we’re talking!), but you won’t pay on delivery? Only after your work is completed? 2 years? What if you don’t finish?

Forgive me but I don’t see the incentive to create 40 character meshes for someone for the grand total of $200 that would be paid after 2 years. Nah… don’t think so.

Oh well. Guess I’ll do them myself. the reason I asked because I’m a Level Designer. Guess I’ll try.
Thanks anyway

Oh well, I guess you’ll have to. Considering most professionals could get paid at least $300 a model for really high-end, quality work that COMES WITH ANIMATIONS, cash on delivery. I don’t really think there’s any reason for you to act disappointed. /:stuck_out_tongue:

why dont you try free models from lot of 3d apps providing.

You probably won’t be able to get exactly what you want, but have you considered looking on TurboSquid?

Turbo squid is TOO expensive

Ummm, I do freelance Illustrator logos and art for a min. of $100 per piece. Average is $200. A difficult piece your looking at $300 easy.

3d models are way harder and take a long time to produce. I would think $200 per is fair at the min. and no more than $500 for something commercial.

Anything good will take a “HOURS” (if not days) to model.

YOu want people working… 50 cents an hour???
Isn’t that like illegal or something?

[edit] just took a look at your images… those can take weeks to model!
Thats like 12 cents an hour… lol

Just joking around. I think you should go ahead an try yourself. Once you have something done, and repost on this forum I’m pretty sure someone will be willing to help out for “free!”

Although I think you got the point clear and loud, you should at least try and model at least one or two yourself, see how much time it took you, then set up a rig for them, once again calculate the time, then, in the worse case scenario, multiply the time spent with $7 and hour, then you will see why the complaints have arisen.

Are you working for a company? ( It sounds not likely) If you are planning on spending 2 years for a game development, do you have story boards, character description, what they will do, what their role in the game is? and the such. If you are a level designer, then how much would you expect to work for someone to design complete sets, textured and lit? I am sure you wouldn’t do that for $5-$10 would you?

You sound young, so don’t knock yourself out, try some of the hard work yourself, then when you need help or are stuck, bring more than just scketches of what you’ve done, bring proof of your hard work first! Good luck with your project anyway. You have our support if you are serious! Good luck really:yes:!

The funny thing is, I bet you could have a modeler to help you if you had more info (like a website or design document) even if you didn’t promise anything as payment. I mean, mods and some indie games have their staff working on it for free. I bet someone who’d be interest in contributing to an interesting game concept wouldn’t mind getting a few extra bucks for working on it.

See my New Frog Dance Frog is from DAZ and animation in blender.

What’s with that crazy vibrating frog?!

Is he having a seizure, or what?

.

It is singing a HINDI song

I have a “inside the house” company named “Sanitarium Games” Only 2 people in it.

I just wanted to have more time making the game then doing nearly EVERYTHING. Don’t worry, I’m not disappointed.
I guess it’s the newbie thing. Because I heard Blender is hard for newbie. But then again, what wasn’t? Just learn to simple thing then I could make the things I want.
And my creature designer made those. Which is the person in the company.
I sound young? I’m 18:cool:

then, in the worse case scenario, multiply the time spent with $7 and hour, t

Seriously, $7 an hour? (checks conversion rates) I get $10.50 for working as a shop assistant!

If you actually wanted someone to do this, aside from the money, you are going to have to give some more detailed information and more pictures.

Anyway, good luck with the game.
