Will Poser Pro import into Blender?

Amazon has this program on sale, and I was wondering if anyone has used it, and then imported the character into Blender. Also if you have how cleanly did it import?

Instead of Poser Pro I would go and get Daz Studio which is a free program. Daz will export characters you can use in Blender.

I experimented with importing a couple of characters from Daz into Blender and the results were ok. I was able to import the Daz character with the rigging using the Collada export from Daz.

I only tried it with Blender 2.49b and am not sure if it will work with Blender 2.5x.

Poser Pro is about the best Smith Micro offers at the moment. If you are getting PP2010 merely to pose characters and to create a scene to export, then I agree with the previous poster. You’re buying a lot of horsepower for a feature that Daz can arguably do better, depending on your workflow and your style.
I would get PP2010 only if you plan on using it in its own right. I have both Daz Studio 3 Advanced and PP2010, and from a tinkerer viewpoint, PP2010 has a lot more to offer.

All you are really buying then (vs. DAZ) is the render engine, lighting stuff and animation stuff which you won’t be using if you’re taking it to Blender. I would recommend trying DAZ first and go from there… if you want more, at least then you are making a more informed decision about what your needs are.
