Windows 64 install

This is an obvious Blender newbie question…

I have a Windows 64 bit system. I downloaded the 64 bit version of Blender which is a .zip file instead of an executable install file like the 32 bit version is. I unzipped the program and an it seems to run OK. I also installed python 2.5 64 bit which was recognized by Blender and appears to be working.

Is there there anything else that needs done to complete the Blender install? I’m not sure what “behind the scenes” things an install executable does that just unzipping and running the program doesn’t do.

Thanks

I have not installed the 64 bit version but if you open Blender and get the interface you should be good to go.

nothing besides making the shortcuts.
