i am thinking about getting professional or even ultimate, but i am just wonder if there is a difference in blenders performance in any way between home preumium and those other two. If so, which is the best?
As you have to ask this question I seriously doubt you even need the professional…
What about maximum physical memory?
Yeh, absolutely valid point.
If you want more than 16GB RAM you obviously have to buy Pro.
It’s not only a EULA thing that you’re not allowed to use more than 16GB it’s an actual limitation. I guess one can bypass it, but that’d defeat the purpose of buying a legal copy…
Same goes if you want to buy Xeons and run dual CPUs. It’s a no-go on anything less than professional.
Anyways, I recommend to buy a system builders version of Pro64. The biggest differences are that you have no free MS support tickets, you can install it a lot more times and in shorter perios before you have to call MS and ask for re-activation. Theoretically you’re obliged to give tech support to whomever you sell your license if you do so. They do not come in x32/x64. You have to choose one.
But if you worry about the 16GB RAM limit, 64b is the obvious choice.
Here the 64b SB/DSP is ~125 Euro.
The regular one costs ~255 Euro.
