Hi, I was wondering if it’s possible to add the command prompt to the right click context menu on windows XP. TortoiseCVS added their thing so I know it’s possible, but I want something like linux where you can run a command prompt from any folder, by right clicking and clicking the command prompt. thanks…
maybe if you copy a shorcut to the prompt in the “send to” directory ?
doing that starts the prompt in C:\Documents and Settings\my user, not in the current drive
just thought of something, is there like a %currentdrive% variable to set the ‘start in’ field in the shortcut properties, and would that even work?
MS used to have a “power toy” or something that added that functionality, they probably still have it buried somewhere in MSDN.

This is the page with ‘Power Toy’ that theeth mentioned.
Download the one labeled “Open Command Window Here”
It adds an entry to the context menu when right clicking any folder. The main problem is if you’re already IN a folder you need to back up one to do it (or do it on a subfolder then back up one)
