This is the story, I took a picture with my digital camera, and then cropped it with CorelPhoto Paint (don’t start with Adope stuff)… and then i sent the file to a friend…
When he recieved it he said “where’s the rest of the picture?”, he sent me a “print screen” of the directory where he copied the pic, what he saw, and I saw that in the thumnail he saw the original picture and when he opened it he saw the cropped picture…
Can someone explain to me what is going on? Thanks!
(oh, and if you want to know, yes, I sent him the whole picture afterwards…)
If you modify your file but don’t touch it, windows won’t know to update the thumbnail image…
If you right-click on the image there is an option to “Refresh Thumbnail”. Or you could just delete the Thumbs.db file and let windows generate all the thumbnails again automatically.
Hmm, yes, I know all that stuff about thumbs.db and stuff… but the thing is…
I sent this jpg file through email (gmail), and the other person got the image with the old thumbnail. Does that mean that windows stores the thumbnail inside the jpg? or… that windows xp sends the corresponding data of thumbs.db when mailing?
What I mean is, even if I don’t “refresh” my thumbnail, if I only send one jpg file, why does the other person (who has never got a previous version of that file) see the old thumb?
