Hi everyone! This is a forum thread imported from the Realusion Forums, starting from the day I began working on the contest.
As part of the contest requirements, I’ll also be posting my progress here on Blender Artists during the remaining days until August 31st.

Hello everyone!
This thread will document my entry process for the event. My goal is to bring one of the original characters from my own IP to life: Dr. Altus .
Dr. Altus is the main antagonist of the story. At first glance, he embodies refinement and elegance. Impeccably dressed in luxurious garments, his appearance conveys nobility, discipline, and absolute composure. Every movement is measured, every gesture deliberate. He does not command attention through intimidation, but through an unsettling sense of certainty. His charisma is as dangerous as his intellect, allowing him to manipulate others while hiding the darkness beneath his polished exterior.
To establish a strong visual direction, I gathered a collection of reference images and mood boards that capture the atmosphere, shapes, and aesthetic I want to achieve.
The first step was exploring and iterating on his face. Since my pipeline uses Character Creator, the facial design is the foundation of the entire character. Getting the facial proportions, expression, and personality right at this stage is essential before moving on to clothing, materials, and the rest of the production process.
I’ll be sharing my progress throughout the challenge. Thanks for following along—I hope you enjoy the journey!

Hey! I continued with the process. Once the face was chosen, I moved on to defining the side and 3/4 views, adding details such as different eye designs for the character’s two states: “Vigilant” and “Hunter”.
Then the magic begins. I opened CC5 and started building the likeness using the base face, morphs, and other customization tools. Little by little, the character is starting to come to life.

Heey! After the weekend, I’ll continue working on this bad boy.
This time, the goal is to establish his overall shape based on the thumbnails. His body needs to feel long, curved, elegant, but with something unsettling about it.
I started refining the silhouette using Character Creator’s sliders and pose modifiers, trying to get as close as possible to the intended proportions. This will serve as the base for the next (and probably the most fun) phase: the accessories!

Hey everyone! It’s been quite a while! Unfortunately, some difficult circumstances in my country, mixed with some personal issues and a nasty flu, kept me away from the contest for a while. But hey, as long as there’s life and time, there’s hope!
This project has involved quite a lot of design work, since I decided to concept and recreate my character at the same time. After making a lot of design decisions, changes, and adjustments, I finally have the final design ready!
Now it’s time to move on to the next step and start modeling all the accessories. Let’s see how far I can get!
I was also thinking about adding an exoskeleton underneath the suit, as the inner structure of the character. It could be a really cool addition, but with the time I have left, I probably can’t afford to spend too much time on it.

Okay, after a long modeling session, I finally have the accessories and suit for our Doctor! Now I’m working on the texturing, so hopefully I’ll be able to share some captures soon. After that, I’ll move the character into CC5 for some final refinement and rendering.
Those hooves have some style! I’ve just realized I need to keep training my hard-surface skills!
