WIP: character animation first timer

greetings,
this is my first attempt at armature animation in blender, and i am somewhat pleased with the results. i do have some gripes though.

  1. walk cycle needs to be more dramatic, more anticipation, fluid landing
  2. textures suck… i know, also my 1st time in the uv editor, and i’m terrible in 2d… the words are “wubo digital”
  3. yes, the head is on backwards… but i use my spray’n’wash bottle that way, so, in my world, its great… besides, it leaves more room for expressive animation.
  4. music timing… overall…

if the format is a problem, let me know and i’ll try quicktime or something. i’m eager to hear some comments from you guys, i am very new at this, but please be brutal with your comments, as i am very critical as well. thanks all.

nice.
I love it! There’s nothing quite like a dancing spray bottle. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a spray bottle dance before this. Wubo, thanks for making the impossible possible.

Keep it up!

What a cutie! I never have seen any characters like that! Thanks for being creavity! Very original!

thank’s to all who downloaded the sample i posted, and thanks to the two who commented, you are most gracious. i’ve been working on the animation a little more recently, and i have improved the audio sync and altered the dance somewhat… i’m much more happy with the result. I’m hoping to give this animation to my girlfriend as part of her birthday, and any comments to this end would also be much appreciated. (of course i will be changing the textures from wubo digital to something more birthday appropriate) keep an eye out for technical issues, misleading animation, motion, and the like… while i’m content with the motion, i’ve also watched this 1000 times, so my opininions are a bit jaded. thanks all.

i realize this file is somewhat large, and if the comments warrent, i’ll post a lower resolution, lossier compression version. it may be best to do a right-click|save-as on this one.

very cool, looks like you put a lot of work into it, the only thing I didn’t like, was how it repeated the dance…

hey, thank you! i didn’t like the repeat at all either, it was just for the test to squeeze a little more length out of it, the second version has no repeat.

oh, I didn’t finish looking at the second…

Edit: good work with the second one, and good well-flowing nozzle thing there too- or hand grippy part, or whatever ya call it- cool stuff
