WIP: Female blender character

(Edit: I changed my img’s to url’s for readability)

I thought I’d show off a model I’ve made with Blender during my spare time. It is far from finished, the model lacks textures, hair, weapon holsters, rigging, animation, proper eyes etc. It is the first model I ever made which I dare to show publicly. Proportions might be slightly off at the moment, but I intend to put some effort into this character so all critique is welcome. The character is intended for use in a future Ogre3d project.

I’m not in a place to be a judge of other people work, but just want to say keep up your work and you’ll get better and better.

To others viewers:

This thread has almost 100 views but no replyes… People, come one, be creative.

Cheers!

Ok, here are a few comments:

  1. the head is a bit squarish in places
  2. even a tight fitting piece of clothing wouldn’t cling around the chest like that

Thanks for the comments guys=)

I’ve made a few changes since yesterday, haven’t hade time for the chest yet though.

I have redone the arms completely because the mesh was really ugly there, and they were also a little bit to stringy and didn’t have enough geometry.

I agree about the head it was a bit square and conish, so I have made it slightly more spherical.

I’m having a lot of trouble fitting the eyes into the model

I don’t know if this is the right method for realtime models? Are the eyeballs exactly spherical or can I scale them slighly? I think the eyelids protrude a bit too much from the face if I fit them as close as I want to the eyeballs. If anyone knows of a good tutorial somewhere it would really make my day=)

Also, when this model is fully decorated with holsters and additional clothes I hope to keep it within 5000-7000 polygons. (Alyx in Half-life 2 is 7000 polygons). Currently this model is 3300 polygons at the first subdivision level.
