This is my first try of an hourglass. It’s mainly for improving my modeling skills as I am quite new to that stuff 
It is far from finished but I think it’s worth to be appraised.

nice, but remember what a real hourglass looks like and that will help.
the glass joint needs to be thicker.
add another lamp to bring out detail.
the curves on the top look strange. try squaring it out.
