[WIP] Po - Kung fu panda

Hi folks!

Well… This is my first participation and posting on this forum … and I’m moving to the blender for now… then… forgive-me, with my lack of experience with blender.

My model:

I need more study with cycles.

:o:confused:

And more up:

First of all I’d like 2 wellcome ya in the name of the community!

Lookin’ good. Very clean & one can defeniteley recognize him.
Your topology is probably flawless, I assume, though I’d like to see a wire still (just curious). A viewport-render would suffice for that matter, just make sure you have the “Optimal Draw”-Option enabled on the Subsurf-Modifier.
In case you didn’t know (like you said you lack Blender-experience): In the “Object-Data”-Context, under “Display”, you can check “Wire” to have a wireframe-overlay displayed in the viewport.
Like so:

Oh and may I be curious one more time & ask what software you used before?

greetings, Kologe

Very convincing model, man. He looks just like he does in the movie.

Well, I used Autodesk Maya before. But since I started to get more involved with free-software movement, I have studied the possibility of working with the Blender.

Image wire:

The first images I just did a planning model … for this… the model is cut.

Finished the modeling. Soon I will make a detailed study of the texture.

There you go… that’s what I was talkin’…as clean a topology as I expected
Just the eyeballs make me wonder wheather or not they’re seperate objects (which is what I’d expected) or just seperate meshes. Or maybe you just gave 'em that wire-setup as well (even though those are quite straight-forward, topology-wise, 4 obvious reasons).
Personally, I usually use seperate objects as eyeballs and let the shrinkwrap-modifier do the magic of making sure the eyelids have proper contact to 'em. But you probably know quite well, what you’re doing, it seems, so I’m gonna shut up now.
In any case, I’m looking forward 2 your progress on this.

greetings, Kologe

Good shape looking really good so far ! cant wait to see more progress
