About the material at the neck/line, should i use dark-gray insted of chrome?
thanks
Last update for today…going tozzz…ZZZzzzzZZZZZzzzz…
alright im still confused but I can see trning into a robot now, very unique. I can’t wait see it come together.
It looks good! I like that the head is not as humanlike as robotheads usually are, an extra plus for that!
nice textures!
After few days i finaly got a chance to open the .blend :
Very nice, I especially like the materials.
Nice mechanical design - and these materials … wow!
Have you seen the movie ‘The Black Hole’ (1979)?
Thanks guys.
Nope, i never seen that film. Is there any connection with my model?
thanks
/sketching up the lower bit
‘The Black Hole’ had some robots that were also looking very mechanic and kinda ‘worn’. The most impressive one was ‘Maximillian’, their leader (red one on the upper picture), the artificial replica of it’s designer, Dr. Reinhardt (so Reinhardt thought :))
Nice model Ada, what kind of robot are you thinking about. The arm parts looks a little bit like (laser)canons. Would it be a war-robot, or some friendly kind or robot?
Walibie
P.S: I dont know why, but the last photo looks like a yafray/blender render. So I think the yafray-blender connection results in photorealistic renders
Very awesome looking.
How are you controlling the shape of the arms? It looks llike you’re not using sub surfacing, OR, you’re using an advanced method that subSur’s only part of the doohickey.
All the part was subsurfed accept the screw and nut at the arm.
And this is THE WAR ROBOT!!!
I think the thing that cause it to look a bit photoreal are the area light’s ray shadow and the ray mirror.
Before subsurf x2
Material update
I think your first material looked alot better, but then again this one flows well with the red lights.
The lighting looks really good, how did you do it?
I just add:
-An area light at the left, set it big with ray shadow.
-Two bluish hemi light and set one of them to the opposite direction and set the power around 0.4. No spec and shadow.
-And a sun light set it to 0.8 with ray shadow at the place of the area light.
There are other lamp for the red glow but i haven’t finish seting them.
Thanks
