WIP shots from my game [MOVIE update]

Time to dust this thread a bit. Now with an in game movie clip. Divx 5.05 coded, 2.3 megs. Commets are taken. What comes to anim speed, I know its way too fast, and no sounds yet.
So, to view it clik on the link

Teft of the Tear

What happens in it:

This evil dude, Hadden, comes and steals old relic, called the Tear of The Crying Mother. Thats about all.

-----old-.----
Walk cycle try out for my main character (finally, he’s been rigged for ages now, but I now finally managed to make him walk)

The first part is normal shaded the last part is cell shaded, which is better?
(divX 5.05 coded)
WALK CYCLE

For the other part, here is two images and I would need opinions:

Normal:

so, commets?

I got the bastard rigged and made this “funny” scene with him. Enjoy, tough it is a overstatement… :stuck_out_tongue:

problem

I’ve somewhat completed my main character, SIr Reginald. Here is an evolution shot of all three states he has gone through:

And bigger versions of the man:

Looks pretty good. Did you render them differently somehow? they all look kind of flat in a cartoony sort or way. Good work. Can Iplay it when its finished?

dante

Well, ofcourse, it’s the textures i’ve made, that are cartoony, but if you were referring to those black edges, they are in Blender. Just go in display buttons (F10) hit the EDGE button and tweak the EDGE SETTINGS. Then render and you will get those toon lines.

Yeah, you can play when I am finished. Actually I have older 2D version of the game ready.

wow, cool kinda feel to it… I like the cartoony approach… but does it look that way in the game?

Hey.

I got one of the characters ready, just see the first post.

DMBadCat: I’ll try my best. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, otherwise, I have no time to work with this project in some time in the future, so the updates for this one will be rare, put keep posting your comments, even tough I will not be answering in your comments very often.

If you duplicat the house, make it slightly larger, color it black, and flip it, it makes the cartoon lines…

Kool!

Btw, wasn’t someone (sorry, i tend to forget names very easily) working on the game engine’s code and got to make cartoon edges without having to duplicate the mesh?

Ohh… i want the game engine back on the new releases so bad… (with some upgrades of course!)

my only want, is that the collision detections deal with the mesh itself, and not some circle…

The game engine will not be a problem for me, because I am gonna make this static, old skool point and click adventure, so I am gonna just render the backgrounds with Blender.

What app are you gonna use for the making of das game?
So it’s gonna be like the first Monkey Island games?

(BTW: my bro just finished playing “Day of the Tentacle” yesterday… lol)

I’m gonna do it with AGS (Adventure Game Studio). It’s very handy and free. You can make your own interface in AGS, insert videos, MP3 sfx etc. If you are interested here is the link:

I made UV-textures to the buildings. Just look at the first post.

I am starting to be pretty pleased, and the style I am aiming at is pretty obivious now. I am only gonna do some minor modeling in these scenes, they are pretty much in the level I want them to be.

Looking nice! I wanna see how you put that into AGS… (cool app by the way… i love it!)

The only playable character from my game. Just look at the first post. Comments are welcome.

purty cool looking :stuck_out_tongue: gettin better

Kool!.. one tip:
Toonshading…

(that could end up giving you: awesome renders or a never ending headache… try it at your own discretion)

Man, that program rocks. Ive been playing with it all night. Im working on a little game as an inside joke on another forum i frequent. Not using blender though, this is too quick-n-dirty

hmm, you did a good job on the rigging :stuck_out_tongue: cool stuff… and yes, give him the feather ¶: þ

But um… his hat looks a tad too fat in that picture :stuck_out_tongue: make it slimmer, it’ll look cooler

Fred_Pyo: Yeah, I am fidling with toonshading options to get results I need, but I don’t have yet great experience with toonshading, so we’l see what will come of it.

Enos Shenk: Yah, for free aplication AGS is extremely great. It even beats every costy “doityourselfgame” progs.

DMBadCat: He’l get the feather, but I’m not yet sure will I do it with static particles (as in the bigger face scene) or by some other method.

And what comes to hat, I’ll see what I can do :stuck_out_tongue:

Just a message to bring this up again. check the first post for update.

Comments are more than welcome.
