"Wire" causes mesh to disappear at render

I have a weird problem: When I try to render a wireframe of my car, it disappears; (that is, the car doesn’t render). I thought it might have something to do with the material, so I added a cube to the scene with the exact same “wire” material next to the car, and the cube rendered correctly while the car still didn’t. I even stripped the car of all of its materials and uv-mapping and started afresh with a new material, but had the same results. Any thoughts? Thanks,

I figured it out: after adding the new material, I had to go into edit mode, select all of the verticies, and then Assign them the new material.
