A witch character for my next film, rigging the cloak on this one was a bit of a challenge, since I don’t like using cloth simulation (too slow…and a pain to re-calculate over and over again to get right…) so I had to use some clever rigging on the legs to get the cloak to bend properly when the legs move. The magic aura thingy here is done in a separate .blend file and linked in as a reference. Getting the face rig working is the next job, I want to be able to use the freeware Papagayo program from Lost Marble to do all the tedious lip sync work… so it’s off to read some python tutorials next.
the spell emblem aura thingy is in the way of the character. not a problem in the animation, but for a still it is blocking the witch too much. i would be intersted in seeing how you have done the cloak/leg rig
Ok, here’s another view looking down from the side. I’ve posted a tutorial/demo of my robe rig here: http://youtu.be/oRuQFJKT2Xg
realy nice rig set up. looks realy simple but at the same time very complex! Great work!
