interesting style. what’s he doing to the tree?
Looks like an interesting scene, but It looks to me as if it’s a bit too bright, or the ground is anyways. The grass is also glowing, which is hard to fix when you’re using particles. There’s a grass generator script that someone made a while ago. I’d recomend that you try that out. The moon also looks a bit bright, and it look a lot better if you turn on some stars, or added a background texture. Looks promising.

Yes, as Goo said you, if you want better grass, go to python plugins section and find FIBER plug-in. That will give you very, very, very good grass.
Put some stars in the sky, go to world button and press STARS button. Then just do little tweaking by moving the sliders.
Also, If you want, you can use Lsystem plug-in, I am not sure about the name, to make great looking trees.
And they said, that 3D modeling is not easy… 
you have the basics there now… next, try to add some detail to the models, and make them “smoother”… and… “dynamic”…
the tree should have more branches, and branches should have more “random” variation… not straight like that.
grass could be thicker.
and the pose of the guy is stiff … loose him up a bit.

Goo : Yeah. The thing about the brightness is that I’m using an odd LCD monitor. it has problems. It’s hard to tell brightness on it, and so I can only guess. The brightness is supposed to be emminated from the energy. As for they python scrypt, python doesn’t work well on my box, and it always chokes on something; I think that it might be due to some windows paths (C:… over /home/greg/…). Thanks for suggesting start; I’ll try that.

basse : as for smoother, I was afraid that my machine would die if I put subsurf on my wizzard. He’s my first margainally realistic humanoid, and he’s not really all that low-poly. As an interesting side-note, from face-on, he looks EXACTLY like Eminem. It’s really scary. As for the tree, I see what you’re getting at, but was sort of a test/proof-of-concept that I just left in there. And for the pose, you’d be stiff too if you were absorbing raw energy through your hands

You need to install python onto your machine. Go to Python & plug-ins section to get help on this matter. I can quarantee, that installing the python is worth of trouble.
i like the atmosphere a lot. good stuff. I think the grass and materials could be improved a little. Regarding the models, i think they are alrite for the scene but some different materials could spice it up even more.
