hey, i’m a newbie in camera and motion tracking in blender and i’m trying to make the subject of my video to push a cart or box. im trying to block out the motion to make the animation but the blender floor and wall orientation keeps placing my scene floor on weird places with strange orientations. i have tried to fix the orientation manually but animating it with such orientation has proved difficult
this is the one that i tried to fix manually but the movement and animation became sideways instead of pushing the cart to the front which can be seen in the screenshot below
im also attaching the blend file if you want to see the project directly. blend file
It’s impossible to check because there’s no video, but if the camera looks like it’s in the image, it’s a wrong result.
The tracking points are mostly at the back and a little at the front.
More tracking may be needed on the sides and floors.
In addition, the bouncing traces in the graph need to be checked and removed.
Because the floor is an iteration of the same pattern, points can splatter and move.
i tried adding more tracking points in the middle and manually adjusting some of the track that gets swept up when the person passes through them and got a solve of 0.4 ish but the floor and walls orientation keeps being tilted
It can’t be extracted in 3D space.
Sorry, I’m not sure about this issue.
Please refer to the video below.
There are more videos on the playlist in that video. It will help.

The nodal expressed as the cause of the problem described in the video is
If the camera is rotated using a tripod (or a similar method), it cannot be photographed in a perfect spherical shape.
This is because the basic axis of the camera is not located in the perfect center.
The distance difference caused by this is called nodal points.
This is because nodal points are unable to grasp the coordinates that can form a 3D space.
Please refer to the attached video to solve the problem.
Thank you so much the video you referenced helped a LOT. Do you have any references on good ways to shoot for motion tracking?
I am trying to learn more about motion tracks and found really varying results on what a good footage for vfx and motion track should be, some videos suggest that no parallax on a footage is better to work with but with motion tracking cant really say i agree with it .
I don’t know the data on how to shoot.
Maybe it’s just about placing props or things that can look natural without using a mark for tracking.
If you are using a trace mark, the process of removing the trace mark from the image is required.
For example,
As shown in the attached video, if the bottom is patterned, the tracking mark can move to a similar pattern.
In this case, if you place a small stone or wooden leaf in the right place, it will be a natural tracking point.
I am attaching a link to the materials that may help you.
