Wooden being

Have this wooden figure for art, have tried to render in yafray but my light setup is giving me …problems…again…anyway. How could I improve this.

Figure is posed like this so rigging is possible later on.

I suppose I am asking wheter or not it is in proportion, these figures are mostly used as instructors for people who draw. I my self have used one before and I was modelling it with it right in front of me.

Do you think that it is good enough to be used as a reference to draw from?

An update;

Here with a different texture: Black and White.

Large Image.

The forearm should be longer than the arm, and the hands and feet should be way bigger.

Hmm whereas I agree with the hands being small, Im not sure about the forearms and the feet.

So here are some reference photos.

Starting to rig model now, will update with picture tomorrow…

On your reference picture, the forearm and the arme are equally long, but on your picture, the forearm is much shorter than the arm. And the feet are as long as the wist of the character is wide.
