Woohoo! New graphics card!

Yay! Got an old GeForce 2 for christmas from my brother, and suddenly I can navigate a +100K poly scene without having to stop for coffee breaks waiting for the screen to update! I’m happy!

/me throws the old TNT out the window

yay!!!

now go for a 1,000,000 poly + scene

he he he just kidding

yay yay yay

After I got my GeForce 2 (they’re pretty cheap too now that all the GeForce4’s and Radeon 9700’s have been out for a while), I discovered that most games run at higher than 15 fps :stuck_out_tongue: . Congrats! Oh, and Merry Christmas!

Good for you! now you can play blender games too! btw I got gforce4…

AWESOME!!!

i’m happy for you, ‘cuz, about a year ago i got a geforce2 ti video card for my birthday, i once had a 32 meg ati piece o’ crap video card and i couldn’t do a thing with it!!

have with it!!!

Yea geforce2 is still a good card, thats what I have. make sure to get updated drivers for it. I can subdivide an object 5 times before it starts slowing down so thats pretty good I think

JAY! I got a GEFORCE4Ti for christmas! They were $70 at bestbuy the day after thanksgiving.
Wooow

Hey congrat Jamesk !

I have myself a GF2Pro 64 MB DDR - Asus V7700,
since almost 1½ year, and it still works very good

I think that the most new GF4 cards is mostly for those
that plays the latest games and such, when working,
3D software doesn’t needs that much power, you can work
under lower hardware, but som games cant handles certain
CPU’s or GPU’s , what a Shame  !

anyhow, I have though wondered to get a new Graphic Card,
but better to wait after New Year and see what the price goes :stuck_out_tongue:

Thats not true, my g2 can still play the most advanced game engine thats out right now. Which is either quake 3 or unreal 3 engine I can never remember.

But can you play Jedi Outcast? even with a gforce4 it still slows down and sometimes it crashes!(what I might need is more ram-160mb now)

I played Jedi2 under WINE in linux with 1600x1200 res and it went quite well.
Had to bump it down to 1200x1024 when i came to the jungle level
