This is a an animated typographic interpretation of the word “complexity”. Enjoy!
What was good?
What should I do better for the next one (as this is going to be a series)?
And, finally, if you have any suggestions to words I should interpret next, do not hesitate to write a comment!
The jerkiness kinda makes it hard to watch at times, but overall it’s great kinda difficult to see the letters because of their similarity with walls but maybe this was intended. Nice animation! I’m assuming you created the detail with a displacement modifier? I like the atmosphere it gives too, very nice.
Thank you, guys!
Yes, the camera movement was supposed to be a bit intransparent at first, but the youtube compression gave it the rest
I tried to kind of separate the letters from the walls, at least in the last perspective. To have the letters blend with the walls was partly intended, but not completely.
Yes, the detail was created using a lot of subdivisions and the displacement modifier using textures I had created in advance.
As long as the atmosphere works, I achieved what I wanted! That’s great!
Oh! Really nice animation!
Great camera movements.
If you ‘faked’ some kind of rim light on the text it would maybe make it be more readable. - Or you could just darken the other parts of the image a bit.
Nice movement. It worked best when music synced up with portions of letters passing in front of camera eg. the holes that pass below. I agree about differentiating the word from background. Try adding some self illumination like glowing wires or vents to the letters
Nice concept! Nice animation! But IMHO you should try a variation between word material and the environment one, so the word would see more visible.
Anyway good work man!
I almost wish I had not called it finished already, your advices are definitely very valid.
But I can say that I have learned while working on this project, and, honestly, from your advices here. Thanks for that!
