What would you improve from this shot?
How would you add texture to the ground fog? any recommendations?

About the project: Arrival is a full CG feature film that is being produced using Blender, a first. However, we are encountering some issues with volumes and realism and we are looking for advice to improve our work.

There are few ways to create the ground fog. Rather than try to list them check out the search results here:

As for how to improve your realism I would suggest that you collect and use reference images. Do image searches using keywords like “mountain vistas”, distant mountains" just to name a couple examples. Collect as many as you can find and use a program like pureref ( to store and view them.
