Work on water splashes

Hello, I’ve been experimenting with water splashes in my art style and wanted to know your thoughts.

A little cheerful frog splashing around in the water with its yellow boots.

I used three objects: two splash objects that I drew in 2D, and then I added a Solidify and a Subdivision.

The shaders are created using the Metallic BSDF material. The base under the frog’s feet has a Wave modifier.

I’d like to know what you think, I’m looking for ideas on how to sculpture water in my own style or just share your opinion, I’m curious.

(I’m still new to this website, so I hope I’ve posted this in the right place )

This looks pretty cool ! the artwork is great too !
For the splash I would have done probably something very similar to what you did…
Metaballs can do interesting things sometimes but plain modeling and using subdivision surface to smooth things out is also working well…

Since it’s not animated I would say whatever works, at least I don’t see an obviously better technique…

For more complicated shapes you can try something like starting with simple geometry and looking into remesh to merge all that, but I’m not even sure this would work well outside of geometry nodes…

Thank you, that’s very kind of you. Thank you so much for replying
