Workflow (or Add-on) to Load Installed Fonts in Blender?

Hi,

By default, the user has to manually install fonts in Blender for them to be recognizable in the “Font” object.

I’m guessing it is for optimization (?).

Anyway, is there a workflow or add-on am I missing that loads the fonts to Blender? So that I can flip through the option in real time like any other regular software.

This is in the Blender Preferences → File Path → Data → Fonts… and for me in linux points to /usr/share/fonts/ and so i can for any Text–object directly in Data → Font → Regular / Bold / Italic / Bold & Italic choose whatever font i want… on my older debian linux this is by file name… IDK how this is on Windows or Mac. So… no “additional installation” needed here.

Ah gotcha. I’ve already pointed mine to that directory but unfortunately, I still have to browse then click on individual font.

What I was looking for is if you have a drop down and you can just cycle through the fonts by just hitting Up and Down Arrow.

Ohh… yes… sometimes i’m used to thing whichcan be done otherwise…

Maybe this… (or something else on the extension platform) ?

Gotcha. Thanks!
