Yikes … it’s a bad sign when you google for an answer and you find a post on blenderartists.org … even one where I responded! LOL
Ben, if you happen to catch this? I could use your advise regarding the performance of the software you helped to beta test. How was the performance? Is it stable enough for a large project with multiple actors?
As always, I’m thankful for any hints regarding facial animation!
I haven’t tested it for months and at the time, didn’t find a decent location in which to give it more thorough testing. ie. Dont feel like I’ve played with it enough to say.
The project is still under development by the looks of things and you can download a 30 day trial to get a feel for it yourself.
Also I can say that facial mocap is something they want to do but I wouldn’t expect it for a while yet.
Thank you,
I will, as you suggest, do a little more reading and see what gives. All in all, I’m excited that this technology exists now and that a small studio can have access to some of the toys of the trade
But as an alternative… I’m really interested to see what microsoft does with the “Natal” project. I think that will probably be more affordable, and I’m sure since it’s usb… someone will hack into it just like people have been using the wii remote thing for other stuff than it’s been intended for. That might be “the” solution for home and small studio use.
