working on high res armor model ..


started working on this high res reference model for the light armor for the game im working on.

Looks good…nice model

well the general shape of the legs and torso is done, i will have to go back and add special pretty details though but overall i think its looking good , i actually really like the hip area and how the thighs look compared to the hip / waist area … its very alien/mecha something something …

i got the basics of the head down … hopefull ill finish the arms next time i have time , after that its detailing … then lower poly version which i will use retopo to create , then it will be normal map making time … then … then … then …

although i still need to do the hands … the rest is mostly done yay !


is it an armor or a robot? looks like it doesnt have room for a person

its kinda an exoskeleton armor thingy … i know what you mean about it not being able to hold someone in there due to the waist area…but the game is a tribes clone and its the future so we are taking certain … uhh liberties with anatomy :slight_smile:

if you want to be more realistic about it … you could say its part human part cyborg… so there are body parts in there somwhere ala robocop … or its remotely controlled…

although in those two cases it would be a robot … armor is more the generic term in the game for refering to the 3 player types … light / medium / heavy “armors”

got any tips of where i should add detail and what kind of detail?

to much details are not always good. i really like the last one, maybe adding a few more details to the chest. the legs and the arms are very good, but the chest seems a bit empty.
