I am working on a survival type game with aliens. Something like rust but more co-op type game, getting a group to raid an alien base, be careful with the space ships so you don’t get detected by the light and get arrested.
I am still thinking about details for the game, the game isn’t quite clear in my mind.
I am sure it will be a multiplayer game with around 100 players on a map.
I have already done the inventory system, needs some tweaks but it is server sided, weapon selection, food, water all is implemented right now. GUI is a place holder including the current models and the sounds.
The rest is just basic things like multiplayer movement, animation, sounds, etc. So all i am trying to say is that it is far from done but i think it would be a fun experience for all of us. If you want to code with me that would be awesome.
I am looking for someone to help with the map design and modeling/first person animations.
I was imagining the map being this open world average sized map. There would be one huge city and another 2 villages. The main city would contain the alien’s bases which would be like a huge “spider” obligating the player to climb up slowly and stealthily or jump from a plane! You got the idea…
Why do people always want to copy every trending games ?
You could try something lighter, something not on a server for instance. I’m not just telling it for you but for the others on this forum section that i see. When you have a big project like that you have to be sure that the people helping you will stick around and judging by what you want it will take time before its completion…
If my advice didn’t dissuade you from beginning on big projects, well, good luck.
For me this is more for the experience and learning. I am not saying this is going to be a big project nor that its going to be popular or something, hell with that. Multiplayer survival games are my preferred type of video games. A lot of these are coming out so I got tempted to the challenge of programming something that i might enjoy playing. I dont really care what others think, maybe someone that thinks like me would like a challenge like this or someone who enjoys this type of games.
I will not be dissuaded by a comment saying the same thing every one says. Just let me follow my desires and try, maybe failure but i will learn something from what i did. I had a lot of fun programming everything you see here, hell i kept doing super jumps with my friends and played for hours even though it only has a stupid NPC that follows a random guy around.
