working out 3d animated short hurdles

I’m working on a new short with a character named Lampy.

There are quite a few things I am trying to hammer out at the moment.

Learning how to animate in the classical way for some simple things - so I’m trying to figure out what apps are best for it and open source.

Compositing, Editing and Animating with Blender - Many new things for me.

This is the animatic I created for the test. The short is going to need a rewrite so the storyboards wil get reworked.

GIMP, MyPaint and blender were used.

If you’ve worked on a project that used similar methods I’d love to hear how you overcame some things.

Cheers,
Todd

Testing one of the character’s rig in its current state.

haha that is a good one, haven’t seen something this original in a long time here xD And an amazing rig (if that is a T-model character)

Hi kiriri.
Yeah, it’s a t-pose. Still got quite a bit of work to do on him and 2 others.

I intend to give him more tatoos and maybe give him some kind of displacement/bump or normal map.

Really nice work there Tod really like the work on your website too

Thanks Dude!
Been trying to improve whats there for a while now.

You have a new follower. Blender needs more animators. I like what i see, esp. the big character, keep it coming!

Brilliant characters, and that set looks fantastic too. I’ll be following this.

 those look awesome, looking forward to seeing this develop /follow

Thanks for the encouragement and good vibes guys!
Lots of nights working on this ahead of me.
